The Healing Garden Homeschooling Guide and Walkthrough
About Lesson

At the heart of every Educator and Parent sits the question, “Do I trust the child to learn without my pressuring them to study?”

“Do I trust the child to learn if the Law was not there forcing them to learn?”

From birth to 2nd Grade, no child ever needs encouragement to learn. Most children are passionate and eager for their first day of Kindergarten. They want to go.

Around the 2nd Grade, this is when we start to see the change in children. But so many people fail to look at the dramatic change in the Learning Environment between 1st Grade and 2nd Grade.

The Play and Imaginative elements are removed and replaced prematurely with Science, Text Books, and Colors. Animals and Games are stripped, and School goes from being “Fun” and an Explorative Adventure to “Work” that looks too much like a day job.

The change in the Learning Environment follows a change in the Curriculum.

The strict, rigid schedule sets in, and Freedom slips away, giving rise to the Natural instinct to Self-Preserve and keep our Freedom.

Education slowly stops being about Learning, and starts being about the Agenda of Adults.

More than ever, at 2nd Grade, the Child needs freedom. The age is 7 and 8. This is the age of Communication and Comprehension.

In the brain, the Communication Centers will be “downgrading,” The Curiosity and Exploration is stifled with Imagination while the child is Directed more than they are allowed to Explore.

The Adult’s distrust in the child’s desire to learn strongly governs the child’s Power of Choice and, by 12 years old, school and learning feels more like a chore than a joy ride.

And it should be a joy ride.

A common Philosophy we see from Baby Boomers is “Life is difficult and you need to learn how to have a difficult life.” We hear beliefs like “You need to toughen up, so we’re going to make life hard for you.”

One former step-mother I had felt my 3 year old daughter was “too sensitive” and she felt having her watch The Passion of Christ would “desensitize” her up so she could “get used to” the horrors of life.

Oh, that day, I screamed so much.

The Foundation of our current Educational System screams Distrust. And this Distrust is what most Parents and Teachers act on. The Law may have been required at one point, but now, this Law strips the Freedom of Children and violates their Freedom to choose, expand, grow, and explore as their Intuition needs.

Early Education — when the child is already passionate about the Learning Adventure — is the prime time to step in and Educate the child in the importance and Joy of Education and Learning.

Why aren’t we doing this?

Every child asks “Why do I have to learn this?” And — so far — I have not found one Adult or Educator who could answer the question.

You have to learn the 6 Academic Disciplines Groups, because they each are a Language of the Self that, when combined, allow the Child to communicate with the Self and Nature and Others so they can Know who they are.

Each 6 Groups Polish an Aspect of the Self that we require to Learn, Grow, and Move through life.

Music nurtures our Intuition so we can Feel our Feelings clearly.

Art nurtures our Translation of Intuition so we can put Definition to our Feelings and Name the Emotions we Feel.

Reading and Writing nurtures our Articulation of that Translation and produces our Ideas. It nourishes our Imagination through Story.

Theater and Stage nurtures our Communication of those Feelings and Idea. It allows us to use Story and Word to Connect with others.

Logic and Math develops our Problem Solving and Sequence Building so we can prepare ourselves to Move and Navigate Life.

Physics and Chemistry teaches us how to Move and Navigate through Life.

Biology teaches us how to put all of these things together like a big dance so we can Nourish the Intuition, Define ourselves, Communicate and Express, Connect, Plan and Build, Create, Navigate, and Move.

That is why we must learn the Academic Disciplines. Someone who struggles with Communication did not learn Theater and Stage.

Philosophy is the Science and Study of all of the Disciplines and how they all fit together. It is the “mother load” of Education Study and Mastery and how it fits with Science, Mind and Mental Biology, and Art.

No Teacher or Educator could tell students why they had to study a subject because no Teacher or Educator ever studied Philosophy.

Homeschooling removes the Teachers of the Poorest of Quality and supplants them with the Masters in their Field on YouTube. Homeschooling is a Upgrade to your child’s Education.

But you — The Parent — must oversee Quality Control. A smart parent will teach the value and importance of Quality Control to their Children.

Because Quality determines the Life Style of the Child. Do this from Birth to 8 years old — Set the example and hold yourself to the same Standard — and your Child’s Drive and Passion will do the rest.
