All Mathematical Problems can be broken down into Four Groups:
- Definition and Measurement of Defined Space
- Defined Measurement in Value and Quantity Equilibrium “Scales”
- Relativity / Relationships and Ratio / Dichotomy (Comparisons)
- Simplification, Disintegration / Integration
- Coordinates / Location and Distance of Defined Change
Word Problems are not about “Solving” the Problem. It is about Knowing how to build an Equation, Formula, and Algorithm from “Real Life” scenarios… and then solving it.
In Word Problems, you have to build one of the Four Groups and then solve it.
In Math, Coordinates and Location of Defined Change are often confused with Value and Quantity and/or Definition and Measurement of Defined Space.
This is because, in Math, they use the word “Dimension” to mean both “Location” in Coordinates and also “Definition” in Measuring Shape.
One word (Dimension) doing the job of Two Definitions.
For this reason, many Logicians and Linguists struggle with Comprehension in Problem Solving.
Once you realize which Problem belongs to which category, you will be able to apply the correct Calculation to get the Correct answer.
This only seems to be a problem that ends in Geometry and on. Prior to Geometry, this is a big problem.
