Leadership is often imagined as someone at the front of the line, leading. This could not be further from the truth.
In Nature, the leader leads from the back to protect the weakest, slowest, and sickest. Almost every animal does this.
I grew up in a place where the mothers would walk ahead “leading.” Their 2 and 3 year old child was 20 feet behind them. The Mother was oblivious to everything happening behind her.
I walked behind my children so I could see them.
Elephants walk behind their children so they can see them.
A Nourisher is someone who walks through the group, notices them quiet ones, and sits with them. I used to attend this one party where the host was too good at this. He always made sure no one was sitting in quiet… even if they wanted to.
Pictures of Moses and Aaron always depicted one brother in front, and one in back. One Guided. The other Leaded.
If you have skills for all three, great! But in this, you will need two additional aids. One to Guide, One to Nourish, One to Lead. A Leader will be sure to have two additional Guides.
If you are taking this Course to be an Ashavana Mentor for our Schools, this is a Mandatory requirement for our Staff. One Leader. One Nourisher. One Guide. You cannot do the job of all three.
