Art : The Science of Perspective Detail
About Lesson

Every piece of Art is trying to communicate something. It either makes a Statement or it asks a Question. The most common question asked in Modern Art is “Why?”

What is trying to say to us? We squint up our eyes and we poke our heads forward like birds as if a closer view through squinted eyes will be something to light…

The other thing I always notice — for me — is the size of the piece. Compositions that are large, like this one, which towered over me often made me wonder what provoked the Artists to do THIS. And yet… for me, it feels like the Dancers have crammed themselves into the “box” of the canvas, bending their necks to fit inside the Box.

Maybe that *is* the point of painting… But I will remind you, my interpretation is only my Perspective. What is yours?
