About Lesson

It was only in MOMA during the audio tour that my attention was drawn to the barely visible line between the eyes of Animal and Man. “Marc Chagall showed how — in his village — Animals and Man were equals.”

This was the year The Phantom of The Opera by Gaston Leroux was published. One year before Titanic sank.

Fun Fact: Marc Chagall painted the Ceiling of the Paris Opera House. The same one that the famed Chandelier fell from in The Phantom Of The Opera (And twice in Real Life).

It’s sweet irony that Chagall released a painting the same year that Leroux’s novel was released.
