About Lesson

History has a purpose. It is the History of Us. It is the History of Education.

Sociology is the Philosophy and Psychology of Society (History).

It reflects on “How did this event shape Society?”

And “What was the Sociological Consequence of this event?”

Much deeper and thought-provoking when powered with Philosophy and Psychology.

It is the History of Society and how Education and Politics built our Society.

All of Western History — From Anthropology to 1776 takes 6 sheets of paper and 2 hours.

This is Plato’s Point of History. History should be discovered — never taught — by the Student.

It’s equivalent to watching The Red Violin move through History. We need a Focal Point to track through History.

I used The 12 Ethics. This allowed me to track their movement from King Solomon through to me over 3,000 years.

The Roman Empire is fantastic in this because The Roman Empire spanned EVERYWHERE and touched down on Everything.

I would never recommend a full class on this as it should be integrated in the Disciplines themselves.

Likewise, Pythagoras and Plato both did not include History in their Curriculum.

History is revealed in the Great Book, in our Art, in Music, in our Sciences. It’s redundant to have an entire class dedicated to it.

Also…

History only talks about People and Events. And…

“Small minds talk about People. Average minds talk about Events. Great Minds talk about Ideas.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

A History book or Biography is more than sufficient to study History. Couple this with Philosophy, The Great Books, and a Discussion Group and now *that* would be a powerful Class.

History always felt like a Ship without a crew, a Captain, or an Agenda. It always left us wondering “Why do we have to learn this?”

By combining multiple Disciplines into History, the student gets much more out of the class.

The User Manual Of The Subconscious Mind

Human Behavior is Sociology. I would add this to “History” and then study History from the angle of Mental Health and Psychology, the 12 Ethics, Oh… But now we’re getting deep into Philosophy.

History needs to become Philosophy.
